What does it mean to take up our cross daily? In that day, everyone understood Jesus to mean they should voluntarily die the most painful, excruciating, embarrassing death possible. Did Christ have to be so graphic? Our “self” invades everything. We can’t kill “ourselves” on the cross, but Jesus can. If we give our life to him, one piece at a time, he will transform us and give us his life. Let Jesus put the new you to work today.
